Anger Management Groups
To manage your time wisely, we suggest you go directly to "CONTROL YOUR ANGER!!" page.
Anger is an emotion experienced by everyone. Everybody has felt it: whether as an annoyance or as full fledged rage. It is a completely normal, healthy human emotion. It is dangerous when it gets out of control and turns destructive. It may lead to problems in your personal relationships and co-workers. The overall quality of your life is affected.
Everybody in today's society experiences stress in their lives due to job demands, family situations and economic conditions. The ability to avoid inappropriate expressions of anger is a crucial skill to living a healthy, happy life. Everyone gets angry. Some people will react very quickly to the perceived pain. Some may not. Some lose their cool and hit the roof. The difficult part is learning what to do with these strong feelings. Sometimes it is important to get angry. Children will understand their mistakes if their teacher shows some anger towards them. But anger must be released in the proper way. It can be compared to steam gathering under the lid - it will blow the lid. When that happens its no fun for anyone. Hence you should learn to manage your anger. Normally when you are angry you can do counting to 10, take a walk, exercise, or talk to somebody else about your feelings. These activities usually slowly calm your feelings and after sometime you will not be as excited as before.
If this situation arises frequently, seek help. If your anger lasts longer as time goes on, or if your anger leads to aggression or if your anger is destroying your personal and professional relationships then you should join an anger management group. This class will enable you to talk with others who are having the same problems.
Anger management groups focus on changing the beliefs that support verbally controlling and abusive behaviors.
Anger management groups are formed to support individuals from the age of 12 into learning to deal with anger in a healthy and productive manner. They arrange the group discussions on topics such as communication, boundaries, anger cues and reducers and goals. They run 6 to 8 week classes one or two hours weekly. Groups are interactive and educational. A person comes to know how different people are facing the same problem. This encourages him and helps him find a solution for his problem much easier. It helps him to accept more responsibility.
